A side-scrolling battlefield forms the heart of Dino Age. Enemies advance steadily from one direction, forcing constant attention to positioning and timing. Dinosaurs act as defensive units, each designed for a specific role. Fast attackers disrupt early waves, heavily armored defenders hold choke points, and powerful boss dinosaurs deliver devastating crowd control when pressure peaks.

Special shots add another layer of control. Rocks, fireballs, ice attacks, and volcanic bombs thin enemy numbers and slow advances when waves become overwhelming. The balance between unit deployment and projectile timing determines success, especially in later stages.
